People come to reiki healing tired. Not always ill, often just worn down by a long stretch of stress, poor sleep or a mind that does not switch off. What they want is an hour where nothing is asked of them.
A reiki session at AstroSpirit is exactly that. You lie or sit fully clothed while our practitioner places hands lightly on or just above you, in a quiet space, for a set time. We offer reiki for relaxation and wellbeing. It is not a medical treatment, it does not replace your doctor, and nobody here will tell you otherwise.
What Reiki Is
A Japanese relaxation practice
Reiki was developed in Japan in the early twentieth century. The word is usually translated as universal life energy, and practitioners describe their work as channelling that energy to support balance.
Gentle and non-invasive
There is no massage, no manipulation and no pressure. You stay fully clothed. Hands rest lightly on the body or stay just above it, depending on what you are comfortable with.
Complementary, not medical
Reiki is used alongside ordinary life and ordinary medicine, never instead of it. Scientific evidence for reiki's effects is limited, and we say that openly. What many people report is that sessions help them relax and feel calmer.
What a Reiki Session Can Support
Relaxation
The most common reason people book. A quiet, uninterrupted hour is valuable in itself, and many clients say they fall asleep.
Stress and a busy mind
People dealing with pressure at work or at home often use reiki as part of how they unwind. It is one tool among several, alongside rest, exercise and talking to people.
Sleep
Some clients book sessions during stretches of poor sleep. Reiki is not a sleep treatment, but a deep relaxation session can be part of settling a routine.
Emotional balance
After a difficult period, a loss or a big change, some people find reiki helps them feel more settled. If you are struggling with your mental health, please also speak to a doctor or counsellor. Reiki sits alongside that support, not in place of it.
Spiritual wellbeing
For people who hold reiki within a spiritual practice, sessions can be part of that path. For those who do not, it works simply as rest.
In-Person or Distance Reiki
Reiki is offered two ways. Here is how they compare.
| In-Person Reiki | Distance Reiki | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | With the practitioner, in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR or Jaipur | Wherever you are, lying somewhere quiet |
| How it works | Hands placed lightly on or above you | The practitioner works remotely at an agreed time |
| Contact | Light touch, only with your consent | None |
| Best for | People who want the full, guided experience | People who cannot travel, or prefer privacy |
| Session length | Usually 45 to 60 minutes | Usually 30 to 45 minutes |
If this is your first session, in person is usually the easier way to start, because you can ask questions and see exactly what happens.
How a Reiki Session Works
1. A short conversation first
Your practitioner asks what brings you in and whether there is anything they should know. Tell them about any medical conditions, and whether you are happy to be touched lightly.
2. Settle in
You lie on a treatment table or sit in a chair, fully clothed. Soft light and quiet. You can close your eyes or keep them open.
3. The session
Your practitioner works through a sequence of hand positions, usually from head to feet. Some people feel warmth, tingling or heaviness. Some feel nothing unusual and simply rest. Both are normal.
4. Coming back
The session ends gently. Take a few minutes before getting up and drink some water.
5. A short wrap-up
Your practitioner may mention anything they noticed. If you want more sessions, they will discuss spacing with you. There is no package you are told to buy.
Reiki Healing Cost
A full reiki session is from Rs 1,499 for up to 60 minutes. A shorter distance session or a first conversation to see whether reiki is right for you is available from Rs 499. Prices include applicable taxes.
We do not sell bulk packages on the first visit. Try one session, see how you feel, and decide from there. You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to four hours before your slot.
How to Choose a Reiki Healer
Avoid anyone who claims to cure illness
A reiki practitioner who promises to cure disease, reverse a diagnosis or replace medicine is making claims no honest practitioner would make. Walk away.
Never stop medical treatment for reiki
Any practitioner who suggests stopping prescribed medicine or skipping a doctor is putting you at risk. Reiki is always complementary.
Ask about their training
Reiki is taught in levels, often called first, second and master level. Ask which level your practitioner holds and how long they have practised.
Check comfort and consent
A good practitioner asks before touching and respects it if you prefer hands above the body. You should feel safe throughout.
Be wary of big packages upfront
Being asked to pay for ten sessions before you have had one is a sales approach, not care.
Before and After a Reiki Session
Wear comfortable clothes
Loose clothing helps you settle. There is nothing to change into, since you stay dressed throughout.
Eat lightly beforehand
A heavy meal just before a session makes it harder to relax. A light snack an hour or two before is ideal.
Arrive a few minutes early
Rushing in from traffic straight onto the table makes it hard to settle. Five minutes to sit, drink some water and ask your questions makes a real difference.
Tell your practitioner about any conditions
Pregnancy, recent surgery, a heart condition or anything else relevant. Reiki is gentle, but your practitioner should know, and it is always your choice how much to share.
Keep taking your medicine
Reiki sits alongside medical care. Do not change or stop any treatment because of a session.
Give yourself a quiet hour afterwards
Many people feel relaxed or sleepy after reiki. Try not to rush straight into a meeting or a long drive. Drink water and let the calm last a little.
Notice how you feel over the next few days
Some people sleep better that night, some feel lighter, some feel nothing much. There is no correct response. If you book again, telling your practitioner how the first session felt helps them.
